CEO

Mauricio Leon began his journey in the trucking industry as a young teenager, when he fell in love with the idea of one day becoming a truck driver. He recalls seeing trucks drive by on the streets near his home and workplace and would just light up with fascination towards such a powerful machine. With the support of his family, he was able to save enough money to begin the process of becoming a truck driver.

By the age of 18, he reached his goal of obtaining his class A license and began working for a trucking company immediately. His fascination for his work only grew stronger over the years, as he worked servicing all intermodal rail yards in Southern California. In 1990, he met his wife Tania Leon who supported his passion for truck driving and would later become the Co-Founder and C.F.O of Pride Intermodal.

Tania Leon at the time was studying accountancy, as she knew that she wanted to work in a field having to do with finance. Gaining experience at the bank she worked at, she was able to further understand the importance of numbers and how they are a part vital to any operation. As Maurice and Tania started a family, Maurice only got more invested in his work as a truck driver and Tania learned the ins and out of the accountancy trade in order to support their new family.

Through their commitment to hard work, they were able to become more ambitious and strive to be the most efficient, trustful and reliable individuals in their trade. Through these qualities that both Maurice and Tania possessed, Pride Intermodal was founded in 2001. Maurice and Tania took a risk and began Pride Intermodal with 1 truck which they bought with very limited resources. They knew that if they were going to start this business, they were going to have to be fully invested, both financially and personally. Through hard work and dedication, Maurice and Tania were able to slowly grow the fleet year by year.

By 2019, they had grown Pride Intermodal to a fleet of 100+ trucks and become one of the most trusted names in Intermodal Trucking. Maurice and Tania’s values remain at the core of the company as it continues to grow and ensure that their employees never forget the importance of quality customer service.
